Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRIVACY-PRESERVING FORENSIC EMAIL PHISHING DETECTION AND THREAT ANALYSIS The present invention provides a system and method for privacy-preserving forensic email phishing detection and threat analysis. The system comprises an email ingestion module for retrieving emails from Gmail and Outlook via platform APIs, a normalisation engine for converting emails to a standardised format, a privacy redaction engine for anonymising personal identifiable information prior to AI processing in compliance with GDPR and India's DPDPA 2023, a forensic artifact analyser for sender domain verification and URL extraction, a threat intelligence module for URL reputation checking via an external service, an AI-assisted semantic analysis module generating a calibrated five-tier risk score with human-readable threat explanation, a policy decision engine applying configurable threshold-based response rules, and an audit and logging module generating an immutable timestamped forensic evidence trail. The invention addresses deficiencies of existing black-box classifiers, rule-based filters, and header-only tools by combining explainable AI reasoning, external threat intelligence, privacy-preserving preprocessing, and policy-controlled decision logic within a unified forensic analysis framework.
