Abstract: A privacy-preserving, browser-native gaze-tracking system and method for paediatric subjects using a standard webcam (FIG. 1). Facial landmarks are computed transiently in an isolated worker thread and discarded after feature extraction, so that no facial image, video frame, or landmark array is ever stored or transmitted off the device. Calibration uses an animated character and adapts the acceptance radius, hold time, sample window, and lapse tolerance at each point as functions of normalised radial distance from the screen centre, improving calibration success in young children. A validation stage computes an affine bias correction, and the output is a self-describing, de-identified record of gaze coordinates, pupil metrics, head pose, and session metadata containing no facial data. The system performs measurement only and does not perform diagnosis.
