Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTIVE MONITORING OF CORROSION AND WELD DEGRADATION IN STAINLESS STEEL The present invention is related to a system and method for predictive modeling of corrosion and weld degradation in stainless-steel materials through artificial intelligence and machine learning methods. The disclosed embodiment includes several sensing units designed to acquire continuously degradation-related multi-modal datasets from stainless-steel structures and welding joints such as electrochemical corrosion measurements, ultrasonic testing signals, acoustic emissions, thermal patterns, vibrational signals, residual stress values, and environmental exposure conditions. Artificial intelligence models consisting of CNNs, RNNs, GNNs, transformers, and physics informed neural networks are applied to the acquired datasets for identifying, classifying, and predicting corrosion progress, weld degradation, crack propagation, and structural failure conditions. The disclosed system further comprises a signal conditioning and feature extraction unit, a decision-making unit that determines the severity of degradation, and a prediction and maintenance orchestration unit that generates predictive maintenance decisions, structural integrity evaluations, and emergency degradation notifications.
