MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088283 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on July 20, 2026, for A System And Method For Predictive Detection And Dynamic Haptic Modulation Of Compulsive Digital Interaction Via Adaptive Wearable Device.

Inventors include Dr. Mayank Namdev; Sana Soni; and Ayonija Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wearable predictive behavioural regulation system for proactively reducing compulsive digital interaction using artificial intelligence and multimodal sensing. The system comprises a wearable sensing unit including motion, physiological, and proximity sensors for acquiring user behavioural data, a data acquisition and synchronization module for collecting sensor data and digital device usage information, and a predictive behaviour analysis engine employing a machine learning model to generate a compulsion probability score in real time. A context evaluation module dynamically adjusts intervention thresholds based on contextual parameters and user preferences, while a haptic feedback controller generates adaptive vibration patterns to discourage predicted compulsive digital interactions before they occur. An adaptive learning module continuously updates behavioural thresholds, haptic response profiles, and machine learning model parameters based on user responses to previous interventions. The invention provides a personalized, non-invasive, and closed-loop behavioural intervention framework that improves digital wellbeing by enabling early detection, adaptive feedback, and continuous behavioural optimization while maintaining user privacy and low power consumption.
