MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641102888 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on August 26, 2026, for A System And Method For Optimizing Contrast Of A Radiograph Using Grey Level Density-Based Transformation.
Inventors include S. Ramasamy; Justin Joseph; and Simi V. R..
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system (200) and method (300) for optimizing contrast of a radiographic image. The system (200) comprises a communication interface (205), a processor (201), and a memory (203) storing instructions executable by the processor (201). The method involves receiving an input radiographic image via the communication interface (205), determining a grey level density for each grey scale value, generating a normalized grey level density and a cumulative grey level density therefrom, generating a plurality of contrast transformation coefficients and identity transformation coefficients from the cumulative grey level density and the plurality of grey scale values respectively, generating a final transformation coefficient by combining the two using a contrast control parameter, and generating an optimized radiographic image by replacing each grey scale value with a corresponding transformed grey scale value.
