MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101831 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University on August 24, 2026, for A System And Method For Opposite-Side Vehicle Warning At Blind Road Curves.
Inventors include Sagar Joshi; and Dr. Ashulekha Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to road safety systems for visually obstructed curves, and provides a pair of integrated roadside stations disposed on opposite sides of a blind curve, each including a vehicle detection sensor, a signal processing module, a communication module, a control unit, visual alert devices, audio alert devices, and a self-powering arrangement having a solar panel and battery unit. A vehicle approaching from one side is detected before entering a non-visible turning region, the detection information is processed and wirelessly transmitted to the opposite-side station, and the control unit determines alert timing based on vehicle speed and curve length to actuate LED warning lights and a horn or speaker before the vehicle reaches the turning point. Warning is maintained during a hazard interval, deactivated after exit from the curve, and the system is reset for a next cycle. The invention improves advance warning reliability at blind curves without grid dependence.
