Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MULTIMODAL EDGE-BASED WILDFIRE IGNITION DETECTION, FALSE- ALARM SUPPRESSION, AND RISK ASSESSMENT The invention relates to wildfire monitoring and early ignition intelligence, and particularly to a multimodal edge-executed system and method employing a multimodal sensing layer (100), site sensor node (110), and edge compute unit (120) for near-source detection of wildfire ignitions. An input synchronization and ingestion interface (130) aligns RGB, thermal, meteorological, and geospatial inputs, after which an on-device preprocessing module (140), visual branch processor (150), thermal branch processor (160), and cross-attention fusion engine (170) generate ignition-related inference data. A temporal change-detection head (180), uncertainty estimation head (190), multi-sensor consensus engine (210), and context-aware suppression filter set (220) reduce false alarms.
