Abstract: A system and method for measuring the dimensions of an object is provided. The system uses a camera-based capture process and a cloud-hosted processing subsystem. The capturing module captures multiple frames of the object from angles, ensuring comprehensive visual coverage. A processing subsystem, hosted on a network server, governs interactions among specialized modules. An alignment module applies transformation matrices to the frames relative to a pivot frame, converting point cloud data and evaluating each frame's validity using angle, distance, and acceleration parameters. Only frames within threshold values are selected for further processing. Subsequently, an object type module determines whether the object is regular or irregular using criteria such as angular deviation between top and bottom planes, inlier density, and rectangularity. This automated evaluation facilitates accurate dimensional measurement of objects, including those partially hidden from view, thereby enhancing efficiency and productivity across various applications that rely on precise spatial assessments.
