Gowsika; and Dr. K. Radha on September 12, 2026, for A System And Method For Lt Line Fault Detection, Isolation, Localisation, And Iot Monitoring.

Inventors include Darshni G; Divyabharathi Y; Madhusanthini A N; Sree Dharshini Sp; Vivekanandha College Of Engineering For Women; Mrs. S. Gowsika; and Dr. K. Radha.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to low tension power distribution protection and monitoring, and provides a low-cost embedded system that continuously senses LT line voltage and current through sensors interfaced with an ESP32/Arduino microcontroller, compares measured values with predefined thresholds to detect line break, overload, and short-circuit conditions, and upon fault confirmation actuates a relay module to isolate the affected line section. The system further obtains fault-site coordinates from a GPS module, transmits fault information by GSM-based SMS to authorized maintenance personnel, and uploads sensor readings, fault type, timestamp, and location to a cloud/IoT platform for remote dashboard monitoring and historical analysis. By integrating real-time sensing, automatic isolation, localization, direct alerting, and centralized logging in a closed-loop architecture, the invention reduces outage duration, manual fault search, maintenance effort, and safety risks in urban and rural LT distribution networks.
