MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076769 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 21, 2026, for A System And Method For Hybrid Cryptographic-Chaotic Key Generation.

Inventors include Swetha N. G.; and Siya Chaitanya Joshi.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: A hybrid cryptographic-chaotic key generation system (100) and method are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a seed generation module configured to generate a random seed from a cryptographically secure entropy source, a whitening module configured to process the random seed using a stream-cipher operation to generate a whitened seed, and a hybrid chaotic generation module configured to derive chaotic state variables from the whitened seed and iteratively evolve the chaotic state variables using a Logistic map and a Sine map. Outputs generated by the chaotic maps are quantized and combined through a bitwise exclusive-OR operation, followed by bit extraction and conversion into a byte stream. The byte stream undergoes cryptographic hash processing to generate a keystream. A key extraction module derives a cryptographic key using a domain-separated hashing operation, and a validation module evaluates the cryptographic key according to predefined weak-key conditions.
