Inventors include Dr B Vandana; S. Shashidhar; P Shirisha; and Dr. D Chandra Prakash.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HUMAN LOCALIZATION UTILIZING A COGNITIVE UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE (UAV) SWARM An autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm system for search and rescue operations in hazardous, GPS- denied environments. Each UAV features a multi-modal sensor suite—including VOC, mmWave, and neuromorphic sensors—to detect occluded victims. The system collectively maintains a distributed Swarm Digital Scene Twin (DST) over a wireless mesh network, enabling real-time 3D probabilistic mapping, multi-agent geometric triangulation, and autonomous search coverage handoffs. Onboard data is processed by a Cognitive Bayesian Fusion Engine that utilizes Bayes' theorem, Kalman filtering, and cross- modal Transformer attention to dynamically fuse disparate sensor modalities. This decentralized architecture generates high- confidence, explainable triage decisions and achieves sub-meter victim localization without reliance on a centralized command infrastructure.
