Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for explainable breast cancer detection and diagnostic decision support using hybrid deep learning and multi-modal medical image analysis. The system integrates mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, histopathology images, and clinical patient information using adaptive multi-modal fusion techniques. Image preprocessing, lesion segmentation, hybrid CNN-Transformer feature extraction, ensemble classification, and explainable artificial intelligence modules collectively provide accurate breast cancer diagnosis. Explainability is achieved through Grad-CAM, SHAP, attention visualization, confidence estimation, and textual clinical interpretation. The invention improves diagnostic accuracy, transparency, clinician confidence, and decision support while reducing false diagnoses and enabling efficient deployment in healthcare institutions
