Inventors include Amreen Ayesha; and Ignisha Rajathi G.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for automated expiry detection and inventory management of pharmaceutical products. The system comprises an Identification Tag Unit including RFID/NFC chips, QR codes, and thermochromic sensors configured to store product and expiry details. Tagged products are placed within an Inventory Management Unit equipped with RFID readers, temperature sensors, and humidity sensors for monitoring storage conditions. A microcontroller processes the acquired data and transmits it through a Wireless Communication Interface to a User Interface Module, where real-time information such as expiry status, environmental condition, and inventory availability is displayed. The system further generates automated alerts corresponding to near-expiry, expired, or compromised products. A data management and analytics module store the processed information, enabling predictive forecasting, auto-replenishment, and compliance reporting. The invention ensures safe product storage, reduces manual errors, prevents financial losses from expired stock, and provides regulatory compliance through intelligent automation. FIG.3
