The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to ex vivo toxicology and renal tissue assessment, and provides a system and method for evaluating nanoparticle-induced toxicity in fresh kidney tissue using partial embedment in a formulated semi-solid extracellular matrix containing gelatin and BSA. Fresh kidney tissue, preferably fresh goat kidney tissue, is positioned horizontally in the matrix within a sterile transparent plastic tank so that one half remains embedded as a support phase and the remaining surface is exposed to sterile phosphate-buffered saline containing a nanoparticle dispersion as a liquid exposure phase. Continuous oxygen bubbling and maintenance at about 37 degrees Celsius under aseptic conditions for up to 48 hours improve tissue support and exposure control compared with conventional fully immersed or unsupported ex vivo models. The invention is useful for post exposure and time-dependent biochemical marker testing, morphological analysis, and atomic absorption to assess renal nanotoxicity. Fig. 1.
