MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641095993 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on August 08, 2026, for A System And Method For Estimating Glucose Trend Using Adaptive Multi-Modal Sensor Fusion.

Inventors include Kavya Kalavala; S. Priya; Sree Pallavi Manikonda; and Arunkumar Balakrishnan.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: disclosed. The system comprises a processor (201), a memory (207), a photoplethysmography sensor (103), an inertial measurement unit (203), a skin temperature sensor (205), a multi-wavelength near-infrared sensing assembly (107), and a glucose electrochemical sweat sensor (109). The processor acquires physiological signals from the photoplethysmography sensor, the inertial measurement unit, and the skin temperature sensor, and determines a physiological monitoring condition therefrom. The multi-wavelength near-infrared sensing assembly is selectively activated according to the determined condition to acquire optical signals from which a glucose trend is determined. The glucose electrochemical sweat sensor is selectively activated to recalibrate the glucose trend, and a calibrated glucose trend is output. (FIG.1)
