MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511012412 A) filed by Gaurang Chaudhary; Arjun Menon; and Hitesh Tumpudi on February 13, 2025, for A System And Method For Enhancing Prosthetic Precision.

Inventors include Gaurang Chaudhary; Arjun Menon; and Hitesh Tumpudi.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) and method for enhancing prosthetic precision by utilizing advanced computer vision integration for intuitive control of artificial limbs. The system (100) comprises a set of hardware components, at least one actuator motor (102), at least one camera (103), at least one processor (104). The set of hardware components include 3D printed structures (101) which are controlled by the actuator motor (102). The camera (103) is configured to capture one or more images or videos of a surrounding and the images or videos are transmitted to the processor. The processor (104) analyzes the images or videos to detect one or more objects in the images or videos via one or more machine learning protocols. Further the processor (104) sends a signal to the actuator motor (102) and 3D printed structures for grasping the concerned object form the one or more objects. The processor (104) is able to dynamically switch between at least four grasp setups (wrist, with palm grip pronated wrist, with palm grip, tripod grip and pinch grip) depending on the objects detected and a set of user preferences.
