MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126599 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on December 14, 2025, for A System And Method For Energy Management And Cruising Speed Optimization In Solar Electric Vehicles.

Inventor includes Anvesha Singh.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a solar electric vehicle energy management system 101 comprising a traction battery 301, a photovoltaic array 303, an electric traction motor 305, a motor controller 307, an input interface 309, an electronic controller 311 with a memory 313. The electronic controller 311 comprises a resistive-force computation module 311A, a torque and power estimation module 311B, a motor-efficiency estimation module 311C, a solar contribution determination module 311D, and an energy management module 311E. The energy management module 311E applies a Newton–Raphson iterative method to determine an optimized cruising speed minimizing specific energy consumption over a target travel distance. A quantum neural network–based framework provides enhanced state of charge prediction under dynamic conditions. The system achieves minimum energy consumption of 34.22 Wh/km at an optimized speed of 39.90 km/h, maximizing driving range while integrating real-time solar energy contribution. (FIG. 4)
