MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080231 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 29, 2026, for A System And Method For Electrical Hazard Detection In Conductive Fluids.
Inventors include Nakul Niketan O. R; Kishaunjith S; Om Kumar C U; Sudhakaran G; and Suguna.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A non-contact electrical hazard detection system 100 for conductive fluid 106 includes an electrode 110 configured to detect presence of displacement current for positioning externally in proximity of the conductive fluid 106 suspected to have electric field; and a high- input-impedance processing architecture 108 to receive detected current by the electrode 110 and the detected current is processed through the high-input-impedance processing architecture 108 and band-pass filters 114 to isolate detected alternating current from direct current and acquired electromagnetic interferences. The filtered output is amplified, converted into direct current envelope voltage to compare against a predefined threshold value to confirm presence of alternating electric field in the conductive fluid 106 thereby provide real-time pre-contact warning to a user.
