Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMPARATIVE DIETARY ASSESSMENT OF ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD CONSUMPTION IN DIABETIC AND NON-DIABETIC POPULATIONS The present invention discloses a system (100) and method (200) for comparative dietary assessment of ultra-processed food consumption patterns among individuals with Type 2 Diabetes and non-diabetic populations. The system (100) comprises a Data Acquisition Module (110) for collecting demographic and anthropometric data, a Food Frequency Assessment Module (120) implementing NOVA-UPF Screener with thirty-three ultra-processed food items across seven categories including Bakery items, Breakfast items, Snacks, Sauces and spreads, Chocolates and candies, Drinks, and Sugar and sweeteners, a Statistical Analysis Module (130) performing chi-square tests and MANOVA analysis with Wilks lambda and partial Eta Square calculations, and a Reporting Module (140) generating comparative consumption reports. The method implements face-to-face interview methodology recording seven-day consumption frequency and enables identification of statistically significant dietary differences between diabetic and non-diabetic populations with large effect sizes, thereby providing actionable insights for public health interventions and nutritional education programs aimed at reducing ultra-processed food consumption.
