The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CAMERA-BASED VIRTUAL MOUSE CONTROL USING HAND GESTURES AND VOICE ASSISTANCE The invention relates to human-computer interaction and discloses a camera-based virtual mouse control system and method implemented in Python using OpenCV, Mediapipe, AutoPy, pyttsx3, and sapi5. A live video stream is captured, mirrored, flipped, and converted from BGR to RGB, after which a hand-tracking framework detects up to two hands and extracts hand landmarks or key points at a tracking confidence threshold of at least 50. A gesture controller evaluates finger states, computes Euclidean distance between selected key points, derives a midpoint control point, and maps camera-space coordinates to screen-space coordinates for pointer movement and click execution. Pointer navigation is produced when the forefinger alone is raised or together with the middle finger, clicking is produced when spacing between the raised index and middle fingers is less than forty pixels, and operations stop when all fingers are raised. A parallel voice assistant provides text-to-speech output and voice- based interaction.
