MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511096424 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on October 07, 2025, for A System And Method For Benign Brain Tumor Boundary Detection And Segmentation.

Inventors include Rajesh Kumar Pandey; Arya Tewary; and Varun Makkar.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system (100) for benign brain tumor boundary detection and segmentation comprising a processor (101), a memory (102) coupled with said processor (101). The processor (101) is configured to detect and segment a benign brain tumor from an image via receiving, via an input module (201), the image having a tumor region from a source, implementing a fractional partial diffusion protocol on the image, determining an optimal fractional order by assessing a segmentation evaluation metrics via an optimization protocol for detecting and segmenting the benign brain tumor from the image and presenting, via a display unit (202), the detected and segmented benign brain tumor from the image. Figure 1 on sheet no. 1 of the drawings may accompany the abstract when published.
