Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for automated academic timetable generation with dynamic override management. A syllabus document is processed using a document extraction module to obtain structured scheduling information, which is combined with institutional resource data and processed by a constraint-based scheduling engine to generate an academic timetable satisfying predefined scheduling constraints. The generated timetable is made available through role-based, multi-tenant access for authorized users. A dynamic override subsystem records schedule modifications, including faculty absences, substitutions, timetable swaps, and cancellations, and applies the recorded overrides to the base timetable at the time of schedule retrieval without regenerating the base timetable. The system further includes a recommendation engine configured to identify and rank substitute faculty members based on availability, subject relevance, and predefined recommendation criteria. The invention enables automated timetable generation, efficient schedule management, and consistent dissemination of schedule updates across multiple user roles, thereby reducing administrative effort and improving institutional scheduling efficiency.
