Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: A system and method for AI-driven smart grid intelligence for sustainable energy distribution are disclosed. The system addresses the challenge of integrating intermittent renewable energy sources into the power grid by providing a dynamic and autonomous management layer. The invention comprises a central Grid Intelligence Engine (GIE) and a network of distributed Edge Intelligence Units (EIUs). The GIE utilizes a physics-informed digital twin and machine learning models to predict grid states and optimize control strategies. Upon detecting a trigger event, such as a fluctuation in renewable generation, the GIE generates secure configuration packages and deploys them to the affected EIUs. The EIUs are capable of executing "hot updates" to adopt new control parameters (e.g., voltage setpoints, protection thresholds) without interrupting critical operations. This enables millisecond-level autonomous protection and control at the edge, coordinated by system-wide intelligence from the center. The invention enhances grid stability, improves operational efficiency by enabling dynamic asset utilization, and facilitates the seamless integration of sustainable energy sources, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable power distribution network.
