Abstract: A system and method for adaptive hybrid indexing of large-scale non-uniform data repositories. A data segmentation module partitions a repository into segments based on index ranges or key characteristics. A heuristic analysis module computes metrics comprising density consistency, slope variation, variance, and skewness per segment. A deterministic structure mapping module assigns segments to an indexing structure based on variance thresholds, while a search structure selector and an indexing strategy selector configure the structure and algorithm. A prediction module employing incremental regression predicts the approximate position of a query key to narrow the search interval, and a fallback mechanism ensures correctness when prediction error or search cost exceeds defined limits. A query execution module executes queries while collecting performance metrics used by a feedback and adaptation control module to refine heuristic parameters and prediction coefficients, reducing comparison cost across evolving datasets.
