MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115715 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 28, 2026, for A System And Method For Adaptive Geo-Spatial Climate Risk Assessment.

Inventors include Mareeswari V; and Karan Chander S R.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT An adaptive geo-spatial climate risk intelligence system (100) comprises a data acquisition module, a location-aware baseline modelling module, a geo- cluster classification module, an adaptive weighting module, a multi-source data fusion module, a Self-Adaptive Geo-Spatial Climate Risk Intelligence Engine (SAGCRIE), a temporal prediction module, a visualization module, and a data storage module. The location-aware baseline modelling module establishes location- specific environmental baselines and normalizes acquired environmental information relative thereto. The geo-cluster classification module classifies monitored geographical locations and the adaptive weighting module dynamically assigns weighting factors according to geo-spatial and environmental conditions. The SAGCRIE computes a Unified Climate Risk Index (UCRI) from normalized environmental information, historical environmental information, geographical information, forecast information, and community-derived environmental information. The system (100) further performs temporal climate-risk prediction, peer-to-peer environmental observation validation, spatial-temporal meteorological interpolation, and resilient geo-spatial visualization synchronized with updated climate-risk information.
