Abstract: A system (100) to remove accumulated snow from an engine intake passage comprises an intake duct (102) includes an upper duct half (102a), and a pair of bottom duct halves (102b) including a first bottom duct half (102b-1), and a second bottom duct half (102b-2). Sliding of the bottom duct halves (102b) results in swapping of the bottom duct half under the upper duct half (102a). The upper duct half (102a) and the swapped bottom duct half together make the engine intake passage. Sensors (104) are configured to detect accumulation of snow in the engine intake passage. On detection of accumulation of snow, the bottom duct half with accumulated snow is moved to a snow removal station (112) for removing the accumulated snow and the other of the bottom duct halves (102b) is moved under the upper duct half (102a)for uninterrupted flow of air through the engine intake passage.
