MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113104 A) filed by Dr. M. G. R. Educational & Research Institute on September 21, 2026, for A System And A Method Of Adaptive Multi-Modal Infant Monitoring And Personalized Soothing.

Inventor includes K. Arthishwari.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) for adaptive multi-modal infant monitoring and personalized soothing. The system (100) includes a multi-modal sensor subsystem (102) for acquiring acoustic, contactless physiological, and pressure-distribution information indicative of an infant state. A state fusion engine (104) fuses the acquired information with contextual information to generate a state vector and cross-validates multiple sensing modalities. An adaptive reinforcement learning soothing agent (106) selects a soothing action according to an infant-specific learned policy and determines a reward based on soothing effectiveness, calming time, motion energy, motion complexity, and safety information. A safety monitoring subsystem (108) independently detects safety-related conditions and overrides the selected soothing action. An actuation subsystem (110) generates controlled motion and/or audio output. A processing subsystem (112) coordinates processing and control, while a communication and user-interface subsystem (116) provides caregiver interaction. A federated learning module (118) exchanges model-parameter updates without transmitting raw infant sensor data. Fig. 1 is the reference figure.
