MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641087787 A) filed by Dr. M. G. R. Educational & Research Institute on July 17, 2026, for A System And A Method For Real-Time Electric Vehicle Battery Fault Detection And Rectification.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) for real-time fault detection and rectification in an electric vehicle battery management system. The system (100) includes a lithium-ion battery pack (102), a voltage sensing circuit (104), a temperature sensor (106), a humidity sensor (108), a dsPIC30F2010 controller (110), an ESP32 communication controller (112), a GSM module (114), a PID control section (116), a MOSFET driver circuit (120), a charging control circuit (122), a cooling fan (124), a buzzer alarm (126), and an IoT monitoring platform (130). The dsPIC30F2010 controller (110) processes voltage, temperature, and humidity data, determines State of Charge and State of Health, and compares monitored parameters with predefined thresholds. Upon detection of overvoltage or overtemperature, the system (100) automatically cuts off charging, activates cooling, generates a local alarm, transmits an SMS alert, and updates the IoT monitoring platform (130), thereby enabling integrated battery safety, remote monitoring, and automatic protection.
