The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure envisages a system(100) for generating a cancellable biometric template for a user. The system(100) comprises an input module(102), a feature extraction module(104), a physically unclonable function(PUF) module(106), a fusion module(108), a transformation module (110), and a repository(112). The input module(102) is configured to receive an iris image(116) and a user identifier(118) of the user. The feature extraction module(104) extracts a feature vector from the iris image(116) and generates a binary iris feature vector (120) therefrom. The PUF module(106) generates a deterministic PUF response (122) corresponding to the user identifier (118). The fusion module(108) fuses the binary iris feature vector(120) with the PUF response(122) to generate a fused binary vector(124). The transformation module(110) transforms the fused binary vector(124) into a cancellable biometric template(126), non-invertible with respect to the binary iris feature vector(120), using diagonal extraction, XOR, and circular bit rotation operations. The repository(112) stores the cancellable biometric template(126).
