The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Title of invention: A SYNERGISTIC MICROBIAL CONSORTIUM TO CONTROL FISH PATHOGEN A synergistic microbial consortium comprises non-pathogenic bacterial strains isolated from environmental and fish gut samples. Isolated bacteria were characterized through biochemical, microscopic, and molecular characterization. The virulence of each or in combination with bacterial isolates was analyzed through an in vivo challenge assay in Labeo rohita. Later, the growth compatibility of bacterial isolates was investigated. Based on the above investigation, a microbial consortium was developed as feed probiotics. The feed probiotics were found to alter gut microbiota, reduce pathogen and disease-causing microbes, and regulate the innate and adaptive immune response by modulating several immune effector genes. The microbial consortium-based feed probiotics were also found to enhance nutrient absorption and digestibility and increase the disease resistance of host fish against pathogenic bacterial infection. The invention has an application to improve overall fish health and increase disease resistance, thereby decreasing mortality and improving production in the aquaculture sector. Fig.3
