Abstract: Title: A Sustainable Pineapple Leaf Fibre Reinforced Polyester Composite Materials for Automotive Applications. The present invention relates to a method of fabricating a pineapple leaf fibre reinforced polyester composite material utilizing pineapple leaf fibres derived from agricultural waste as shown in figure 1. The method comprises extracting pineapple leaf fibres, treating the fibres with a sodium hydroxide solution to remove impurities and enhance fibre–matrix adhesion, and incorporating the treated fibres into a polyester resin system containing methyl ethyl ketone peroxide catalyst and cobalt octoate hardener. The resulting fibre-resin composition is compression moulded and thermally cured to form a consolidated composite structure. The fabricated composite exhibits enhanced tensile strength, flexural strength, dimensional stability, and durability owing to improved fibre–matrix bonding. The developed composite material provides a lightweight, cost- effective, and environmentally sustainable alternative suitable for building and construction applications including wall panels, partition boards, ceiling panels, insulation panels, roofing sheets, and prefabricated construction components.
