Abstract: The present invention relates to a sustainable, high-adhesion hybrid adhesive composition. The present invention relates to a sustainable, high-adhesion hybrid adhesive composition for corrugated carton packaging, comprising sodium silicate solution, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), glyoxal, and chemically modified cashew nut shell oil (CNSO). The sodium silicate is derived from rice husk ash processed using sodium hydroxide, enabling value addition to agro-industrial waste. The cashew nut shell oil is treated with sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide to enhance reactivity and compatibility within the adhesive matrix. The formulation consists of approximately 80% rice husk-based sodium silicate solution and 20% polymeric and modified oil components, resulting in a cost-effective and high-performance adhesive. The composition exhibits neutral pH, improved bonding strength, reduced reliance on food-based starch adhesives, and enhanced environmental sustainability. Compared to conventional corn starch-based gums, the invention provides superior adhesion, resource efficiency, and promotes circular utilization of agricultural waste materials such as rice husk ash and cashew nut shell oil.
