Abstract: A SURGICAL TRAINING AND COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence- based system and method for real-time quantitative assessment of surgical competency. The system comprises a plurality of sensor modules including stereoscopic imaging units, motion tracking sensors, and force sensing devices configured to capture multi-modal data corresponding to surgical instrument manipulation within a workspace. The acquired data is synchronised, preprocessed, and analysed using machine learning models executed on an edge computing unit to generate performance metrics with low latency. A cloud computing unit is operatively connected to store longitudinal data and retrain models using aggregated datasets. The system implements a multi-modal sensor fusion mechanism for integrating visual, kinematic, and force data and computes a competency score based on a composite metric representing efficiency of motion. A feedback interface provides real-time adaptive feedback to a user for skill improvement. The invention enables objective, standardised, and real-time evaluation of surgical performance.
