The surgical apparatus (100) includes a reusable actuation unit (102), a translation 5 unit (104, 104’) operatively connected to the reusable actuation unit (102), and a disposable compliant gripper assembly (106, 106’) releasably coupled to the translation unit (104, 104’). Further, the translation unit (104, 104’) includes a plurality of transmission members (104a, 104b, 104c, 104d, 104’a, 104’b, 104’c, 104’d) defined with a first end (107a) and a second end (107b, 107b’). The plurality 10 of transmission members (104a, 104b, 104c, 104d, 104’a, 104’b, 104’c, 104’d) is configured to transmit an axial force from the reusable actuation unit (102).
