The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a super napier grass-derived porous carbon solid state supercapacitor device and method of fabrication thereof. The super napier grass biomass is rinsed with distilled water, pre-carbonized at 300°C in a muffle furnace, and subsequently graphitized at 800°C under argon atmosphere in a tubular furnace without any chemical activation. The obtained porous carbon is crushed, washed with 1M HCl, rinsed with distilled water until neutral pH, and dried at 80°C. A slurry consisting of 80% porous carbon, 10% carbon black, and 10% PVDF dispersed in NMP is coated onto a stainless-steel current collector (101) & (102) to form two symmetric electrodes. A gel electrolyte (103) consisting of PVA and LiClO4 is interposed between the two electrodes (102) & (101) to form a leakproof solid-state device operating at a voltage window of 2.0 V exhibiting a specific capacitance of 209 F/g (areal 250.9 mF cm-2 ). The device maintained 86.9% of its initial capacitance after 3000 cycles. The device was demonstrated practically by powering a 21- LED panel for 47 s when charged for 10 s.
