Inventors include Mr. Pradip Karale; Dr. Raosaheb Shendge; Dr. Seema Gosavi; Ms. Eram Ansari; and Ms. Pranal Doifode.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: [038] Disclosed is a sugar-free herbal raft-forming oral composition comprising a hydrated sodium alginate matrix, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, a magnesium-containing neutralizing agent and standardized clarified extracts of deglycyrrhizinated licorice, Aloe vera inner leaf, ginger and fennel. The composition is prepared by separately hydrating alginate and pre-dispersing botanical fractions, followed by controlled incorporation of particulate neutralizing agents and delayed addition of bicarbonate. On exposure to acidic gastric fluid, gas generation and alginate gelation are intended to produce a buoyant physical barrier. The disclosed formulation and manufacturing sequence are designed for assessment of raft formation, buoyancy, acid-neutralizing capacity and storage stability. Clinical prevention of Barrett’s oesophagus or oesophageal cancer is not established. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2].
