Abstract: The present invention relates to a topical gel composition for treating and managing cutaneous warts, particularly human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated wart lesions. The composition comprises a 30% Hydrogen peroxide solution; about 0.2% to 3.0% w/v of a gelling agent selected from Carbopol, Carbomer, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) K4M, and combinations thereof; about 1.0% to 3.0% w/v Lignocaine hydrochloride; and about 0.05% to 0.30% triethanolamine. The composition is formulated for localised topical application to a wart lesion, wherein the gel vehicle facilitates retention of the formulation at the treatment site and provides prolonged contact of Hydrogen peroxide with the wart tissue, while Lignocaine hydrochloride provides local analgesic benefit to reduce treatment-associated pain, burning, stinging, or discomfort.
