Abstract: A SPLIT TYPE COMBINED BRAKING SYSTEM. A split type combined braking system (100) for a vehicle includes a master cylinder housing (102) having a master cylinder (204) and a piston (604). A brake lever (104) is pivotably mounted on the housing (102) and configured to actuate the piston (604). A piston plunger (222) is pivotably supported relative to the housing (102) and operatively engageable with the piston (604). A combined braking system arrangement (201) includes a CBS plunger (220) operatively connectable at one end to a braking input. The piston plunger (222) has a wedge-shaped projection (504a), and the CBS plunger (220) has a complementary recessed wedge surface (504b), together defining a wedge interface. Actuation of the CBS plunger (220) displaces the piston plunger (222) to actuate the piston (604), while the brake lever (104) independently displaces the piston plunger (222).
