Abstract: The present invention related to a solar tracking system. This is a cost-effective single-axis solar tracking system designed to enhance photovoltaic efficiency for small-scale and decentralized applications. The system comprises a supporting frame, a solar panel, a pair of light dependent resistors (LDRs) mounted on opposite sides of a center barrier, an Arduino Uno microcontroller, a servo motor, and a power supply. The LDRs detect differential sunlight intensity, and the Arduino processes these signals to control the servo motor, thereby maintaining the solar panel substantially perpendicular to incident solar rays throughout the day. This automatic alignment reduces energy losses associated with fixed or manually adjusted panels. Experimental results demonstrate improved voltage and current stability, with power output significantly higher than conventional fixed installations. The invention further incorporates an Internet-of-Things interface for remote monitoring and potential predictive tracking upgrades, offering a compact, reliable, and scalable solution that supports wider adoption of renewable energy technologies.
