Abstract: ABSTRACT A SOLAR CONCENTRATOR APPARATUS FOR REPAIRING A BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT AND A METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure relates to a solar concentrator apparatus (100) for repairing a bituminous pavement. The apparatus (100) comprises a Fresnel lens (102) configured to concentrate incident solar radiation to a focal point, a focal adjustment assembly (104) configured to support the Fresnel lens (102) and align the focal point with a target region of the pavement, a tilt-and-rotation mechanism (106) configured to orient the Fresnel lens (102) relative to incident solar radiation through 360 degrees, and a portable support frame (108) configured to position the Fresnel lens (102) over the target region. Concentrated solar radiation is directed onto the target region to heat and soften an aged bituminous binder, thereby enhancing bonding between the existing pavement and a patch material applied thereto.
