Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a soil moisture-based automated irrigation control system (100). The system (100) comprises a microcontroller (101), a soil moisture sensor (102) electrically coupled to the microcontroller (101) and configured to generate an analog output signal indicative of a volumetric soil moisture value, and a relay module (103) electrically coupled to the microcontroller (101) and comprising a normally-open contact terminal electrically connected to a power supply (105) and a common contact terminal electrically connected to a water pump (104). The microcontroller (101) compares the analog output signal with a predetermined threshold value and generates a digital control signal to actuate the relay module (103), thereby energizing the water pump (104) using electrical power received from the power supply (105) when the analog output signal is below the predetermined threshold value, and de-energizing the water pump (104) when the analog output signal is at or above the predetermined threshold value. The relay module (103) electrically isolates the power supply (105) and the water pump (104) from the microcontroller (101), thereby enabling safe, autonomous, and low-power irrigation control without requiring manual soil moisture assessment.
