Abstract: The present invention provides a smart pill dispenser comprising a sealed thirty-compartment rotary carousel wherein each compartment stores a bulk supply of one dedicated medicine for up to thirty days. A stepper-driven indexing mechanism aligns the required compartment with a dispensing chute. A micro-servo pill-metering gate releases the exact prescribed number of tablets under closed-loop control of a first optical sensor that counts each tablet. A second independent optical sensor at the collection tray confirms physical removal by the patient. Only after both sensors confirm, does the system mark the dose as Taken/Removed. The identical hardware serves patients with widely varying daily pill counts simply by allocating one compartment per medicine and independently scheduling times and quantities via a mobile application. The system includes inventory sensing, offline logging, battery backup and a child-safe enclosure, and is designed to be affordable and suitable for Indian home and clinical use.
