MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104120 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 29, 2026, for A Smart Pen-Based Cognitive Learning Analytics System Using Handwriting Dynamics For Adaptive Exam Preparation..
Inventors include Shonak Bansal; and Harsh Dogra.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart pen-based cognitive learning analytics system for adaptive examination preparation. The system comprises a smart pen including a motion sensing assembly, a pressure sensing unit, a microcontroller unit (MCU), a memory module, a wireless communication module, and a rechargeable power source for continuously acquiring handwriting dynamics during writing on a writing surface. The MCU preprocesses the acquired sensor signals and transmits processed handwriting data to an external computing platform. The computing platform extracts handwriting features from the processed data and generates handwriting-derived learning metrics using one or more trained computational models. A cognitive learning analytics engine determines learning indicators including learning progression, handwriting consistency, knowledge-gap indicators, and examination readiness indicators, while an adaptive recommendation module generates personalized revision schedules and study recommendations.
