Abstract: ABSTRACT [0017] A context-aware command-line chatbot for Linux is presented that translates natural-language queries into safe, executable system commands. Users type ordinary English sentences such as “show me what is inside the Documents folder.” A Sentence-Transformer model converts the query into a semantic embedding that is matched by cosine similarity against a library of pre-annotated command descriptions. Once the closest match is identified, regular expressions extract dynamic arguments such as file names or directory paths and insert them into predefined JSON command templates. The completed command is forwarded over HTTP to an isolated execution server running on a separate virtual machine, where it is run through the Python subprocess module and the output is returned to the user. Context is retained across successive turns so that follow-up requests such as “delete the biggest file there” can be resolved without re-stating earlier information. Safety checks, command previews and logging are included, producing a low-barrier interface that lets novices and experts alike perform common Linux tasks without memorizing syntax.
