Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart kitchen plastic waste conditioning system designed to improve the handling and recyclability of plastic waste at the household level. The system comprises a drying chamber equipped with a heating module and blower fan for moisture removal, along with temperature and humidity sensors for controlled operation. A gas sensor is incorporated to detect harmful emissions and ensure safety through automatic alert and shutdown mechanisms. The system employs a dual-controller architecture using an ESP32 microcontroller for sensing, monitoring, and user interface functions, and an Arduino Uno for heating control. An ultrasonic sensor is used to detect and count plastic waste, and a servo-controlled mechanism facilitates the transfer of dried waste to a motor-driven compression unit, which reduces the volume of the waste. The system is integrated with a web-based interface for real-time monitoring of operational parameters. The proposed invention provides a compact, cost-effective, and energy-efficient solution for conditioning plastic waste prior to recycling.
