Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a smart indoor navigation system (100) for assisting visually impaired individuals in navigating indoor environments where GPS signals are unavailable or unreliable. The system comprises Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons (102) positioned at predetermined indoor locations, a smartphone (104) having a navigation application, a voice guidance unit (106), an Arduino microcontroller (108), an ultrasonic sensor (110), and a vibration motor (112). The navigation application detects signals from the BLE beacons (102) and processes received signal strength indication (RSSI) values to estimate the proximity of a user to selected indoor locations and provide voice-based directional instructions. The ultrasonic sensor (110) detects obstacles and determines a distance thereof, while the Arduino microcontroller (108) processes the detected information and activates the vibration motor (112) when an obstacle is within a predefined distance. The system thereby integrates indoor positioning, voice-guided navigation, and real-time obstacle detection to provide safe, portable, and independent navigation assistance for visually impaired individuals.
