Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a smart fuel inlet system (100) with integrated fuel-quality validation and controlled dispensing, configured to authenticate fuel compatibility, validate insertion of a fuel dispensing nozzle (104), determine fuel quality before fuel enters a vehicle fuel tank (10), regulate fuel admission based on predefined quality and quantity conditions, and automatically terminate fuel dispensing through pressure-induced shutoff of the fuel dispensing nozzle (104) without requiring modification of fuel-station infrastructure. The smart fuel inlet system (100) comprises a filler neck housing (102), a nozzle validation unit (106), an iris shutter unit (108), a sensing chamber (110), one or more fuel quality sensors (112), a pre-tank buffer chamber (114), a passive check valve (116), a flow sensor (118), and a controller (120). The smart fuel inlet system (100) is configured to prevent unacceptable fuel from entering the vehicle fuel tank (10) and to safely isolate rejected fuel within a sealed collection reservoir (140). The smart fuel inlet system (100) is compatible with conventional vehicle filler-neck arrangements and existing fuel- dispensing stations.
