Abstract: A SMART EMBEDDED ROBOTIC SOLUTION FOR SAFE AND EFFICIENT WATER TANK CLEANING AND INSPECTION Water tanks need regular cleaning to prevent dirt, algae and germs from building up and ruining the water quality. At present, conventional cleaning methods like Manual Cleaning Method, Chemical Cleaning Method, Pressure Washing Method, Vacuum Cleaning Method are widely used; however, these approaches are time consuming, unsafe, and lack consistent quality assurance. Therefore, this work presents the development of arobotic system for automated water tank cleaning, disinfection, crack detection, and water quality validation. The proposed robotic system is a small, tank deployable robot with a servo controlled disinfectant dispensing unit rotating scrubbing brushes for sidewall and bottom cleaning, and a motor driven mobility mechanism. Through a Wi-Fi based mobile application, wireless operation is enabled using an embedded microcontroller based control architecture. The microcontroller connects to a mobile hotspot to establish network communication, allowing real time navigation, cleaning control, and monitoring functionalities via the Blynk platform. Leak detection monitoring is incorporated in the system to identify any potential cracks or unwanted water loss during operation. Additionally, the system evaluates the quality of water before and after the cleaning process to ensure effective removal of impurities and verify the overall cleaning performance. Smart reminding system is included that helps to make the usual maintenance not so hard. The suggested system is ideal for both residential and commercial applications since it provides an automated, safe and effective way to maintain water tanks.
