MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (214/KOL/2014 A) filed by Mr. Abhishek Bhattacherjee; and Prof. Abhay Sankar Chakraborti on February 20, 2014, for A Single Step Method For Isolation Of 'Receptors For Advanced Glycation Endproducts' (rage).

Abstract: The invention discloses a single step method for isolation of 'Receptors for Advanced Glycation Endproducts (RAGE)' and the isolation kit developed incorporating the said method. The said method of isolation of Receptors for Advanced Glycation Endproducts, from tissue homogenate, comprising of: I. Synthesis of Advanced Glycation Endproducts-tagged chitosan beads and preparing a chromatographic column using the said bead. II. Incubation of the supernatant prepared from rat tissue homogenate in the chromatographic column prepared in step I. III. Elution of the RAGE protein from the said chromatographic column by Phosphate buffer saline.
