Abstract: ABSTRACT: TITLE: A SINGLE-STAGE MULTI-MODE POWER CONVERSION ARCHITECTURE FOR BIDIRECTIONAL ENERGY EXCHANGE BETWEEN SOLAR PV, GRID, AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES A single-stage grid-connected photovoltaic (PV)-based electric vehicle (EV) battery charging system is presented with integrated maximum power point tracking (MPPT), charging control, and power factor correction as shown in figure-1. The PV array (101) is interfaced through a boost converter (200) to regulate the DC-link voltage (206), which is further connected to a voltage source converter (300) for grid interaction. A feedforward-based grid current generation unit (420) computes the reference current (427) directly from instantaneous PV power, eliminating the need for conventional PI control and associated tuning. A phase-locked loop (401) ensures synchronization with the utility grid (307). The system enables seamless bidirectional power flow, supporting both grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operations. Simulation results demonstrate improved dynamic response, reduced harmonic distortion, and unity power factor operation. The proposed system offers a simplified, efficient, and reliable solution for PV-integrated EV charging applications.
